LiveBible

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026

LiveBible (“LiveBible”, “we”, “our”) helps you read, study, and reflect on Scripture. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the LiveBible website, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using LiveBible you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) handles your email, name, profile image, and authentication credentials. We receive a user identifier and basic profile fields.
  • Billing information. If you subscribe to Premium, payments are processed by Stripe through Clerk Billing. We do not store your full card number; we receive subscription status, plan, and billing metadata.
  • Usage data. We log which features you use (for example chats with the Pastor, voice sessions, journey activity) along with timestamps so we can enforce free-tier limits, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
  • Content you submit. Prayers, questions, and messages you send to the Pastor or Live Pastor features are sent to AI providers (OpenAI and Google Gemini) to generate responses, and may be retained briefly so we can return your conversation history.
  • Microphone audio. The Live Pastor feature uses your microphone only while you are in an active session. Audio is streamed to Google Gemini for real-time speech understanding and is not stored by LiveBible after the session ends.

How we use information

  • To provide, secure, and improve LiveBible.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account safe.
  • To process subscriptions, renewals, and refunds.
  • To enforce free-tier quotas and prevent abuse.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

We share data only with vendors that help us run LiveBible:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management.
  • Stripe — subscription billing (via Clerk Billing).
  • OpenAI — AI chat responses for the Ask Pastor feature.
  • Google (Gemini) — AI chat and real-time voice responses.
  • Neon — managed Postgres database hosting.
  • bible-api.com — public Scripture text lookups (no personal data is sent).
  • Vercel — application hosting and delivery.

These providers process your data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

  • You can update or delete your account from the account menu, or by emailing us.
  • You can cancel a Premium subscription at any time; you will retain access through the end of the paid period.
  • You can deny microphone access in your browser; the rest of the app will continue to work.

Data retention

We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Usage logs are kept only as long as needed to enforce limits and improve the product. Microphone audio for Live Pastor sessions is not stored by LiveBible after the session ends.

Children

LiveBible is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
